What Environmental Tests Do Aviation Obstruction Lights Need to Pass

Low Temperature Test
The aviation obstruction light is placed in a low temperature chamber with a constant temperature of -40°C for 24 hours, and the light is turned on for 1 hour with electricity. After turning on the light, see whether the obstruction light can reach the normal light intensity and flashing frequency within 60 seconds.
After the test, take the aviation obstruction light from the low temperature equipment for visual inspection, if any material deterioration or damage is found, it is unqualified. Then conduct a power-on test on the aviation obstruction light, and determine that the power supply voltage deviates from the rated AC voltage. The DC voltage must be maintained at ±2% of the nominal value, and the flash frequency must be maintained at ±1 of the nominal value.
High Temperature Test
The aviation obstruction light is placed in a constant temperature machine with a temperature of 55°C, and the light can be turned on for the test at least 4 hours after the temperature has reached equilibrium to see whether the obstruction light can reach the normal light intensity and flash frequency.
After the test is completed, take out the obstruction light from the incubator for visual inspection. If any material is found to be deteriorated or damaged, it is unqualified. And to test its power supply voltage and flash frequency.
Damp Heat Test
In the damp heat test, the lamps and equipment have undergone 10 cycles of 240h) test, and the highest temperature should be 5°C. Any abnormal phenomenon or material deterioration or damage to the lighting equipment during the test operation is unqualified.
In the rain test, the test environment is 130m/h. During the test, the lamps should be turned on and each side of the lamp should be subjected to the rainforest for 30 minutes. The test aviation obstruction light runs normally, otherwise it is unqualified.
Salt Spray Test
Salt spray test, aviation obstruction lights are turned on after 48 hours of salt spray and 48 hours of dry test. Aviation obstruction lights should not show any signs of damage, rust, pitting or corrosion (except for coating damage).
Solar Radiation Test
The radiation intensity is (11W plus m2, 24h is 1 cycle, in which irradiation, 1 h without irradiation, a total of 56 cycles. During the irradiation, the temperature in the test chamber is maintained at 55 ℃ ± 2 ℃. Any plastic parts appear Chalking, fading, cracking, or the color change (yellowing) of the thermoplastic lens of the lamp is uniform and unqualified.
In order to ensure the quality of aviation obstruction lights and long-term outdoor use, the above high and low temperature, damp heat, waterproof, salt spray, etc. All the tests must be passed, so that it can be regarded as a qualified aviation obstruction light.
